A classic brown hide from a western range sheep. Their leather is hard wearing and the wool strong. Since wool requires a large amount of heat to burn, they are safe in front of the fireplace.

Size: 42” x 29”

What we love about it: Big and soft.

Wool: 2” brown wool of medium softness.

Origin: Western United States Ranches

THE PROCESS

These beautiful hides are tanned on our family farm in Indian Valley  Idaho. The process is gentle and certified organic in England.

Why is there hay in my rug!!? In the sheep world we call this VM or vegetable matter. The gentle process of taking each hide from the salted stage to a preserved rug leaves all the unique qualities of the animal intact. Bits of hay and seeds are a part of raising sheep. The most beautiful things in life aren’t always perfect. While we do our best to remove the big bits, removing it all would mean a completely different process that destroys what makes each hide unique.

THE SOURCE

Responsibly sourced within the region. We work closely with farmers and butchers to save these gorgeous pelts from disposal and turn them into natural rugs for your home.

*Measurements are taken from the back of the hide at the neck to middle of back-end & across the widest part of the belly.
